I can't even tell you how much I love the combination of lustrous, natural pink freshwater pearls and copper. There's just something about it!
My inspiration for this piece was the emerging plum blossoms just outside my front door this spring. In this necklace I show them as tightly closed buds with the textured 3mm copper beads, then as buds beginning to open with the same beads accompanied by a little copper plated brass flower bead cap and then as nearly opened buds with the 5-6mm natural pink freshwater button pearls and larger copper plated brass flower bead caps. I clustered them together in mixed groups just like the buds that grow on my plum tree.
The rosy glow and bright warmth of the copper will complement any skin tone and the natural pink pearls I used also have a nice warmth so that they will look beautiful on anyone.
This 19 inches (48cm) in length necklace looks so delicate, but it's on a sturdy copper chain, with a large, easy to work copper plated brass lobster claw clasp. Each of the dangles is carefully and securely wire-wrapped by me as an elegant detail, but also so that not one of of them will ever pull off. This piece can be worn over and over and is very comfortable.
