The hand carved jade fish and ocean motif pendant is one I hand picked from a stall at the outdoor "dirt market" in Beijing, China. The oblong pendant measures approximately 1 1/4 x 1 3/4 inches (3cm x 5cm). On the front, the pendant changes color from brown and yellow green down to a more blue green the deeper the carving goes. On the back the blue green jade prevails (see detail phtos).
I have securely wire wrapped the pendant with a 14k gold filled wire bail and hand knotted it right onto a hand knotted green gemstone bead necklace with a handmade 14k gold filled artisan hook and eye closure. Genuine gemstone beads are hand knotted by me onto jade green colored silk. The flat oval beads came in an assortment so I'm not entirely sure what they are, but they match the jade very nicely. The round beads at the back of the necklace are green aventurine gemstone.
This one of a kind necklace is approximately 18 1/2 inches in length (47cm) and is even carved on the back.
