Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope this finds everyone warm and comfortable and enjoying the bounty of the harvest. I'm preparing to make my Grandmother's recipe for butterhorn rolls, but before that, I need to let you know about this:

$ SALE $ SALE $ SALE $

Yes, it's true. I am having a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale with savings of 10-15% Starting Thanksgiving Day and running through Monday night. This INCLUDES items that are already on sale!

Receive 10% off of ANY purchase by using the Code: THANKS10 at checkout.

-- On my website type the code into the Promotional Code box at checkout and you'll automatically receive the discount. If you are using this opportunity to redeem a gift certificate, please contact me--my shopping cart will only take one code at a time, but I'll be happy to refund the difference. --

-- If you are shopping at my Etsy.com store, type the code in the "Message to Seller" box at checkout and I will refund the 10% to you via Paypal (Etsy does not accept discount codes). --

And how do you get 15% off?

Order $40 or more and use the code: THANKS15

-- follow the same directions as above --

And remember I always send a small FREE GIFT with any purchase over $50.

Any purchase over $100 always receives a free upgrade to Priority Shipping (choose the First Class Mail shipping and I will automatically upgrade you--this will not be reflected in the receipt at checkout).

I know that my having two on-line stores can be confusing, but I can move items from one shop to the other. If you find items on both my website and my Etsy store, I can move all the items to one store for you--just let me know.

FYI, the reason I have two stores is that they reach very different demographics. My sales have increased considerably with the opening of my Etsy store. My most popular items are listed in both stores for your convenience.

In October I participated as a vendor in my first ever Art Fair. If you'd like to view photos of my booth they are on my blog at:

For the Art Fair I created many, many new earring designs and I have gradually been getting them photographed and listed on both my website and in my Etsy.com store. They seem to be quite popular with my customers. Take a look!

JEWELRY BUYING TIPS and TRENDS:

Home jewelry parties are a fairly recent trend and are a wonderful way to buy jewelry. You can try on pieces in a relaxed setting, get opinions from others about how things look on you and generally have the time to consider pieces before deciding to buy. These can be set-time parties or open house events with refreshments and good conversation.

There are some mass market type jewelry parties where you buy from a representative and possibly order out of a catalog and receive your items later. These parties have the advantage of having a large inventory of choices and pieces that have mass market appeal. Usually at these parties the representative will be expecting each attendee to make a purchase.

And there are parties where you buy directly from the artist and try on pieces that you can purchase and take with you. Buying directly from the artist has certain advantages. You can often get one-of-a-kind pieces, the artist can often change clasp styles or types of ear wires for you on the spot. You can almost always commission custom pieces directly. On-the-spot-gift wrapping and and gift certificates are often available. At these parties the artist will usually recognize that their unique style may not appeal to everyone and should not expect that each attendee will make a purchase.

Technology has made it easier for the small jewelry designers to provide services that were not previously available. Many will now take credit card payments, provide "e-vites," allow on-line previews, allow you to invite people from far away to participate on-line and more.

I have a new web page explaining about hosting Home Jewelry Parties at:
