Sue Runyon Designs Newsletter May/June 2009

Summer seems to have gotten away from me. How about you? My son is home from school all summer and we are looking forward to some good times though the temps have reached over 100 every day here in Vegas now.

SALE:

I am running a SUMMER CLEARANCE SALE on my website and in my Etsy.com store. If you have had your eye on a piece for a while now is the time to check and see if it is on clearance! This is the first time that I've done a clearance sale since I started a year and a half ago.

In one post I show my home studio, in others I introduce you to some great artists, I have recipes, photos and notices of specials I am running (I always have something on special), In the latest post I am actually modeling mineral makeup for a fabulous shop on Etsy.

JEWELERY TREND:

With the economy the way it is, people are finding it to be a good investment to repair or revamp jewelry they already own. I've been asked to do quite a bit of professional pearl re-stringing and jewelry repair lately.

Is it time you took a look in your jewelry box and brought out Grandma's pearls for a little refurbishment? Maybe they need repair or re-stringing, lengthening or shortening or just need to be re-styled with the addition of some pretty gemstone beads or crystals?

Do you have a broken beaded bracelet or three? A necklace that is the wrong length? Costume jewelry you love, but the corroded spacer beads really need to be replaced? And, oh yeah, it would be great if the clasp could be replaced with a magnetic one . . .

I have this article on my website that explains the classic technique that I use to string pearls and also some pricing info on pearl stringing and jewelry repair.

JEWELRY TIP:

Even if you aren't in the market for jewelry I have a wealth of information on my website and add more periodically.

I now have an article on my website with homemade jewelry cleaner recipes:

And don't forget my Pearl Care Guide:

Enjoy your summer!
