Jewelry Cleaner

Mix together:

* 2 tablespoons liquid hand soap

* 1 cup water

* 1/2 teaspoon ammonia.

Store in a clean glass jar.

To Use:

Briefly soak jewelry in the cleaner and rinse with water. Pat dry with soft cloth.  On sturdy, metal jewelry you can use an old, soft toothbrush to scrub jewelry.

Notes:

Can use on gold, silver, diamonds or some costume jewelry. Do not use on opals, pearls or other porous stones.

Silver Cleaner

* 1 quart water

* 5 inch square aluminum foil

* 1 teaspoon salt

* 1 teaspoon baking soda

To use:

Bring all ingredients to a boil in a non-aluminum pan and then turn off the heat. Drop silver in briefly. Wash in soapy water, rinse and dry.

Notes:

Use only on sterling silver (solid silver--not plated). Works well for small items such as jewelry and flatware. Make a larger batch for larger items.
